there and back again :-)

Post by REBS_Rens_CO »

Salute!

gentlemen / ladies

Good to see there is still a few of us :-)

I was waiting for wings of valor to get started, but it never happened. I guess there is a story there to tell...

got some questions, though :

- meta server. I run one, it is being used by pilots, but I dont see the other meta's anymore .... is that correct ?
or are there new ones ?

- I got a ready to run tournament server. my bwidth is 3 mbit, so should be enough. Swordfish used it for his tour,
anyone interested, get in touch with me. I provide the windows / redbaron etc.
the rest is up to you.....

for the rest : happy to be back, and see you up there somewhere :-)

Salute Rens!

Thanks for helping to keep this community running through the use of your servers. :cool2:

I haven't been flying for 6 months myself, took a break, bought a house, renovated most of said house, moved in, what a nightmare...lol

Now that my office is set up again, I'll be dusting of my N28 and climbing back into my cockpit this week.

See you all in the friendly skies! :mad2: :biggrin2:

Salute! Rens,

Nice to see you back Sir, and thank you very much for providing the server for the Flying Coffins tournament last spring!

I haven't flown much myself during the last 6 months, real life has been busy.
But just like some other die hard enthusiasts, I refuse to give up this great game! :twisted:

Best Regards

PS
Nice to see you back too, Draegon! :biggrin2:

S! Arnold, All!

Welcome back, Arnie, Draegon, Rens and Swordfish. Our next FunDay will be either Saturday 21 Jan 2012 or

Sunday 22 Jan 2012, 1600 EST/ 2200 CET. I believe you are still on email list, but I will post latest info for FunDay.

Hoping to see a Tournament in near future. Some have expressed a desire to try an Alpine Tournament. Swordfish and

Gen. DeDeville have Alpine servers up. Just need someone with the smarts and time to organize Tournament :biggrin2:

Hope to see you and others in sky.

S! Rens,

I forgot to answer the quoted question. Longarth and Tiger used to run meta-servers, but they haven't been up for a long time.
Pops still runs a meta-server, though. The following meta-server entries are currently valid (taken from my rb2server.ini file):

// * * * * META-SERVER SETTINGS * * * *
[RegisterWith]
TCP:rlgb.xs4all.nl:6001 ; Rens
TCP:216.18.240.30:6001 ; Pops
//TCP:depotserver.de:6001 ; Longarth
//TCP:66.225.104.67:6001 ; Tiger

On the player side, use the following settings in your mplayer.ini file:

[MetaServers]
Server=TCP:rlgb.xs4all.nl:6001 ; Rens
Server=TCP:216.18.240.30:6001 ; Pop's
//Server=TCP:depotserver.de:6001 ; Longarth
//Server=TCP:66.225.104.67:6001 ; Tiger

Best regards
