RBWar 3 starts on Saturday, May 15, 2010 at 3pm est

Post by US95Pickett »

S! all, here's the schedule for RBWar 3

Week 1 - Saturday, May 15, 2010 3pm est, N11 versus Halb D2 - Target Flanders Map
Week 2 - Sunday, May 23, 2010 3pm est, Pup and N24 versus Alb D2 and Alb D3 - Target Flanders Map
EDIT: Memorial Day weekend - no RBWar3 match this weekend
EDIT: Week 3 - Sunday, June 6, 2010 3pm est, Camel and Tripe versus DR1 and D7 - Target Flanders Map
EDIT: Week 4 - Saturday, June 12, 2010 3pm est, N28 and Snipe versus DR1 and D7 - Target Flanders Map

Teams for each match will consist of 16 pilots per side (total of 32 pilots per match)

RBWar 3 will utilize the custom Target Flanders map that consists of 66 targets per side.

targets per side:
aerodromes = 2
cities = 9
supply dumps = 7
rail yards = 10
bridges = 31
factories = 7

total targets = 66 per side

NOTE: You can use the regular RBWar Flanders map for the RBWar 3 Target Flanders and the extra targets will show up on the regular RBWar Flanders map but it will not show the target numbers for the extra targets.

The rules are the same as the other RBWars except there are two aerodromes per side, so guard your home aerodromes well. You have to fly from whatever drome you start at (no switching dromes but you can repair at any drome that is up).

EDIT:
RBWar3 week 3 is postponed until Sunday, June 6, 2010 at 3pm est because of Memorial Day weekend
RBWar3 week 4 will be played on Saturday, June 12, 2010 at 3pm est.

Looks great Pickett!

You might think about moving the Camel to fly with the Sopwith Triplane and the N28 with the snipe. Most think the Camel is a even match to the DR1. And it adds the N28 to use.

S! all, I have no problem if we have the N28 added in week 4 but since the N28 is probably the best plane in RB3D, we would need to offset the planes in week 3 to keep things even overall for RBWar 3. I just want to keep plane match-ups even as possible in the overall RBWar3 so that neither side doesn't have an overall advantage.

How about:
week 3 - Camel and Tripe versus DR1 and D7
week 4 - N28 and Snipe versus DR1 and D7

S! all, ok, we'll adjust the plane selection for RBWar 3 to the following:

Week 1 - Saturday, May 15, 2010 3pm est, N11 versus Halb D2 - Target Flanders Map
Week 2 - Sunday, May 23, 2010 3pm est, Pup and N24 versus Alb D2 and Alb D3 - Target Flanders Map
Week 3 - Saturday, May 29, 2010 3pm est, Camel and Tripe versus DR1 and D7 - Target Flanders Map
Week 4 - Sunday, June 6, 2010 3pm est, N28 and Snipe versus DR1 and D7 - Target Flanders Map

I think the week 1 and 2 plane selections are fairly even matched. However, introducing the N28 in week 4 imo gives the advantage to the allied side for that week; so week 3 needs to be offset so the German side has the advantage, which I think it does with the Camel and Tripe versus DR1 and D7 plane match ups.

S! all, I flew in de DeVille's server tonight with some of the fine pilots from this RBWar, it was a good time.
I flew the N28, which I rarely fly, and realized it really isn't the superior plane that I used to remember it as flown by some pilots, or at least it wasn't for me, but then again, the pilots in those DR1s and D7s were really good ;)
